Oops sorry about that. It still tastes like Pabst with oranges in it.

Anyone see the Stephen King Beer anywhere? I just saw it in my local liquor store for the first time. Is it good?

Three Floyds is probably my favorite local micro-brew, I especially like it because it comes from Northwest Indiana, and while I only lived in that part of the country for about one year of my life, I have a bit of an affinity for the area as I do have some family who lives there now and I desperately want to see it come around. Not to mention, I love the minor league baseball time from Gary (how can you not love a team whose mascot is a cat swinging a beam of steel).
In the city, my favorite places to drink fancy beer are:
Map Room
Hop Leaf
Piece (I love their pizza too)
Goose Island on Clyborn (but they are closing )
As far as Old Style goes, I can tolerate it under the right circumstances, but two are my limit as it will do nasty things to you the next day
.... on a side note, they started selling Brooklyn Brewery beer in Chicago about a year back, and that made me happy, I visited their brewery a few years ago and liked what I drank.

Microbrew Bar?
I am looking for a good microbrew bar in Chicago. I am not sure so I was hoping to get some help. Please don't say Bar Louie but any other help would be great thanks.

If you don't mind riding the Metra south a bit, Flossmoor Station brews excellent beers

Long Room: good selection of draft microbrews. Pound for pound one of the best. Midwest and Belgian (Irving Park & Ashland)
Edgewater: Focus on Midwest if somewhat limited in selection (6-8 on tap, once and awhile something from the handpull) (Ashland & roughly Bryn Mawr)
Quenchers: Midwest w/ focus on Intl beers (Western & Fullerton)
Sheffields: Specialty beers with focus on Bell's and micro ales. Top quality selection. Certainly gives Hopleaf a run and beats MapRoom on quality (Sheffield & School)
Chicago Ale House: Lots of draft-- per capita not the greatest (Lawrence & Leavitt)
Map Room: good quality selection. A bit overrated due to limited selection of drafts (Bucktown-- Armitage?)
Piece: their own brews-- high quality. Look for Rick Neilsen. (North & Milwaukee)
Hopleaf: Belgian, Belgian, Belgian. Can get crowded before 6:00 (Clark & Foster)
Clark St. Ale House: Midwest microbrews (Clark & Chicago)
Village Tap: rotating selection. Big on weiss beers (Roscoe Village)
Jaks Tap: relatively unknown; good selection on tap (on Jackson in West Loop)
Suburbs:
Poor Phils: Marion St. in OP
Brixies: Ogden Ave. in Brookfield
Two Brothers Microbrewery: Winchester?
My address shifts from time to time to the places listed above.
Also, try the Beer Advocate web site.
