Oh, I'm sorry forgot there's only one point of view, yours. Your guys over the top stereotypes. Waa waa. I guess when actual debate is hard you default to childish actions. Pathetic. I guess the truth gets under your skin and you would rather pile on the Police with your bias. Must be so hard to be so urban and edgy.

I don't even dress "suspicious" as much.
But sometimes you have your lazy days where you just want to throw on a jersey with some loose pants.

Plus my work clothes is pretty suspicious so its not like I have a choice.
Kids nowadays are dressing geekier which expands the stereotypes

I wasn't aware of this law in New York but it's made a huge difference in the gun murder rate in NYC. Since it's been implemented, gun murders/violence are down signficantly in NYC. Statistics have proven that.

"The situation in which a police officer who is suspicious of an individual detains the person and runs his hands lightly over the suspect's outer garments to determine if the person is carrying a concealed weapon."

Now, obviously this law causes controversy because it essentially gives cops the ability to profile and a vast majority of those getting S&F are black or hispanic., BUT....statistics show (and I don't think anyone would argue against it) that young black and hispanic males are also the ones perpetrating most of the gun violence.

I think it's a great idea and would work in Chicago.

What say you?
It's not a New York thing, and it's been around for decades. State law has nothing to do with the ability of a cop to stop and frisk. It's a exception to the 4th Amendment that the Supreme Court has carved out.

The cop always has to have reasonable suspicion to stop somebody in the first place, and that means they have to be able to specifically tell a judge why they suspected a person was doing something illegal. They can't just say it's because X was black or Hispanic. Of course, cop can always manufacture a false fact.

Second, they can't frisk anybody unless they can point to some specific fact that indicates the person was likely carrying a weapon. Again, simply being black or Hispanic will not cut it, but it doesn't mean the cop won't make something up.

And cops DO make crap up all the time. When I was 18 I was on my way home from a friend's house and my headlight was out. Cop stopped me and said he "detected a strong odor of alcohol." At that time, I had never had a sip of alcohol in my life and I knew he was completely BSing. But he knew that would be enough to give me a breathalyzer (0.0 after having to wait 30 minutes) and that it would hold up in court if I was arrested for a DUI. Still have never gotten over the injustice there.

So stop and frisk can and does happen legally in Anywhere, USA. But if the cop doesn't do it right, the defendant will prob get off scot-free if he has a good defense attorney.

Back in my more youthful days CPD stopped and searched me when I was travelling through Humboldt Park (very) early on a weekend.

I don't think we need a law, they already do whatever the hell they want.

I was ILLEGALLY charged with a DUI heading out to the burbs to drop off a friend. The officer even falsified police documents.

Just yesterday me and my father were stopped driving cross country bringing my sister's stuff back from CA. She was in a near fatal car accident last May. The cop's excuse? IMPEDING TRAFFIC. Yet, we were going exactly the speed limit.

The real reason, 2 black guys driving a U-Haul with a Mercedes on the back.

Oh, and both of the cops in my stories were black.

It's time to revoke these chump's power and start sending them to jail. It's what happens to everyone else.

So true. We need an independent legal arm for the citizens that investigates criminal activity of police officers. The average citizen can't afford, nor has the time to take an officer to court.

Start sending cops to jail and all of the bad behavior will stop.

Check my true stories. No stereotypes there. Just FACT.

What I will say is this, I understand there's a lot of good cops out there. I will also say that if we legalized drugs you guys job would be a lot safer.
