COOLIDGE AVE is on a distinguished road
OMG why are people going off on chicago. You guys have it great. " ohhh it snow int eh winter ohh its too hot in the summer" big freaking deal. It snows in jersey and gets hot but my nearest beach is about an hour and a half away. Toll is 8 dollars to get into the city there are no good schools in my city. NOT ONE! our suburbs (irvington east orange ) have more crime than the city the self. We dont have too many rapid transit lines. busses are the way to get around newark unless you live on the north side then there is a light rail that ends at 1 am. My downtown looks like basically a commerical street in the ghetto. Most of the stores are low income. But the worst part is seeing the people *****e making money in newark rush out of the city at 5 as if it was a mass evacuation. Mygosh please really appericate what you have stop complaining. i have heard complaints about everything from traffic to the schools to the parks to the neighborhoods to the weather. i mean seriously the weather . You cant control that. And if everything is really that bad dont hop on a post and complain do something about it. Plant trees and flowers in the park. donate books to the school library start a neighborhood watch or something its not that my neighborhood is so bad. ( really its not its decentish) I have wanted to live in chicago from the day i learned how to say it correctly and to see the people of the city complain about even the littlest things just gets on my nerves. find something good about your city how about that. What is good about your neighborhood.

Move over summer and we'll see you next year, right now I want autumn to move a little closer

I spent tonight in a beer haus, there was a new beer on tap for autumn and it wasn't even 11pm when the singing started, it was warm and pleasantly dim and everyone had a grand old time.
To think, last year at this time I was still living in Chicago! Today in LA it was hot, sunny and dry. Just like it is every day. I miss autumn

But definitely not winter.

Try visiting some suburbs to find out how 'friendly' people in Chicago are. Also, if you like congested traffic, I would highly encourage moving to Chicago as you will fall victim to it everyday.

If you are not a native to big cities, then stay very far away because Chicago is as big and bad as it gets. Winters aren't horrible but they do suck, and the summers suck too due to humidity. We only get two seasons here, hot and cold. Unlike other places where you get a spring and fall.
I love how the Non members throw in there two cents and then never come back. If you don't like the city that much and think the weather sucks then move.

For the "all suburbs are the same crowd", a BIG distinguishing feature of Oak Park and Evanston (and Skokie?) is that they have access to the EL. It is plausible to live in either suburb without a car.

It has been a great week weatherwise. The relative rarity of the stunning days makes you enjoy them much more.

Finally, I know chicagoland_hell is obviously a troll, but seriously what self respecting New Yorker would move to a Chicago suburb and adverstise it?

Wow, to think that it was more than a year ago that I opened up this thread and now it's been resurrected.

I´ve been to Chicago a couple of times since then and still think it's a great city.

But I still live somewhere else.

say what? when i walk my dog a 6 in the morning it has been beyond cold. Today it was 42 degrees(49 is the average low). That is horrible weather for me when you look at other states/locations and see the temps/sunshine that they get. plus downtown, you rarely get the sun unless you go to a park because you are walking in cavernous streets surrounded by ridiculously huge buildings. the temp difference was at least 10 degrees from millenium park to simply walking down Monroe. The last week of September had perfect weather. it was high 70's, low 80's, lots of sunshine. that was great. this week has been chilly to the MAX but luckily things will warm up a bit next week.

At1WithNature - It's funny, my SO would completely agree with you. She's only happy when it's between 72-74 and it's sunny.

42 degrees is "beyond cold" for you? Beyond cold for me is waiting 40 minutes for the blue line to come when it's in the single digits.
