The city map and limits
Why is chicago structured so well. i mean the city limits. It goes as far to ohare airport by cumberland steet in some parts and as far as state. Why can't they just make it one big square. I mean the west side. They should make all sides of it go as far west as harlem. How big do you think it will be if all parts of it went as far west as harlem or cumberland. 225 square miles of it now is land

Any city not hampered by a natural boundary has ragged edges. That has to do with annexation, money, and politics.

Oak Park rejected annexation into the city of Chicago a while back. Good luck convincing them (us) to agree to annexation now.

Chicago should eat up all these small towns to ad more population and size to the city.
It would be a benfit to chicago as far as taxes go and besides these towns around Chicago don't offer much anyway to the state or tax system cuz they reall don't have big box or offer much big industry anyway. Cicero is a hole and Berwyn to most visitors is Chicago and so give it up.

Don't give King Richard any new ideas. Soon Chicago will be known as the Union of Chicagoan Soviet Replics at the rate he is going.

Thank you, that's what i've been telling people. Places like evanston bewryn, cicero ,evanston , harvey ,calumet city should be annexed into chicago. Of the nine million people in chicagoland most of them are located right next to chicago like the evanston . If you include all this towns chicago probably be at 3.2-3.5 million. All these small towns are just feeding off of chicago like jersey is doing to new york city.

I thought you wanted more people in the existing city. I thought you wanted a denser population. How would annexation help?

When Chicago grew in the 1800's and 1900's they could annex all the open land and small developments they wanted - because they had the services in place to sway those people into becoming part of Chicago. Starting with Evanston and Oak Park though, they were able to provide their own structure and services and didn't NEED to become part of Chicago - and certainly didn't want to.
The suburbs you mentioned would NEVER become part of Chicago, just isn't going to happen. They don't need to, and they certainly don't want to.
