That's why he's fit to be President. Contrast that judgment with say, the selection of Brownie "Heck of a Job" FEMA disaster man.

It really has nothing to do with Obama. The teams technical background is highly sought after. Groupon purchased a whole company last year (Obtiva) just for their engineering team. These guys would be getting recruited like crazy regardless of the campaign.

Couldn't disagree more.

It has to do with cultivating a culture of COMPETENCE and not one of an old-boys-club, where it's who you know (or who your daddy knew) that counts.

Again - if a presidential candidate can't put together a wining team of techies, is this the person you want putting together the White House cabinet and running the economy and military?

It's truly amazing, isn't it? If his people had looked at the objective data that he was losing, and worked to change things, he might have had a chance. Instead, they decided that the factual evidence couldn't possibly be correct, and created their own alternate reality where they were winning. The problem is that elections occur in the real world, not the alternate one.

^To be fair, Gallup was wrong because they made exactly the same assumptions as the internal Romney polls about who would show up on election day. If they weren't the name in polling, they'd probably have taken a lot more crap for that.

Gallup has really gone down hill in the last few elections. They are barely better than Rasmussen.

I'm not really concerned with whether or not Obama can hire a group of techies. And lets not pretend like he did it either.
