Chicago Apartments with Amenities
My wife and I are moving to Chicago within the next two month's and I'm looking for the best websites or sources to find apartments. We currently live in NYC (in Tribeca) and have an apartment with several amenities such as 24 hour doorman, gym & pool, outdoor space, etc. We are looking for a similar type of apartment.
For some reason I've been having trouble find a good website to look in Chicago. I'll be working in the 60611 area code and would like to be somewhat close to work (doesn't have to be 2 blocks, but 20-30 minutes by train). Any help would be much appreciated.

What is your price range? There are a lot of buildings downtown that meet this criteria (as well as some on the lake front)

We have many apartments that offer that-- indoor gyms, indoor restaurants, indoor grocery stores (and I mean good ones), all that jazz.
Secondly, just when did Tribeca become known for amenities? This is news to me! The Tribeca I remember was all about converted warehouses, artists griping about being priced out and nice restaurants... Not doorman hotels.

Tribeca has changed quite a bit Coldwine! Actually it is still the place you remember only there's a good amount of construction and "luxury" buildings in the neighborhood.
I'm really hoping to find a similar situation to what we have in Tribeca. We love it because compared to other NYC sections there considerably less traffic, both car and foot traffic, than most neighborhoods here. Yet there are many great restaurants and bars in Tribeca in walking distance. We're close to anything we need. Tribeca also has a very strong neighborhood feel. I imagine in Chicago many area's would be similar since Chicago is more spread out than NYC.
My budget ranges from $1,500 to $2,000 for a 2 Bedroom. Can go slightly higher but would prefer not.

Not sure if this is exactly the type of area you're looking for, but check out The Streeter - Home

Sounds like what you want would be furnished in the buildings on Lake Shore drive or near Lincoln Park. Many of those buildings have gyms and doormen, pools etc. Some are condominiums but sometimes you can rent those. For example look at this website: 555 Cornelia Condominium Association - Home
I used to live down the block from here. Its a block off Lake Shore Drive. There are many buildings like that. Most are not "loft like" but rather high rise types.
Here is another website to call to see if there are any rentals in these buildings.
Chicago Lakeview Apartments, Apartments for rent in Lakeview, Wrigleyville, Rosco Village, Buena Park
