Looking to live in a clean, quiet and SAFE neighborhood within Chicago, north of the Loop, North, West or Northwest. I grew up in North Park / Albany Park neighborhoods but they do not seem to be that safe or clean anymore. Ideas, comments?

Norwood Pak
Edison Park
Edgebook
Sauganash

I'm pretty sure these are the cleanest, safest, and most quiet city neighborhoods. They're not discussed on this forum very often because they're far from downtown and not trendy.

Good suggestions, if the OP grew up here, it's odd that he/she didn't know these places are so close to Albany Park.

Thanks for all the input. It's been 45 years, so it's very hard to know what's what, knowing that all areas of Chicago have changed radically since the 1960s. Demographics change, i.e., Albany Park in the 50s and 60s was predominantly Jewish, North Park was Swedish. By the 1980s everyone I knew in those neighborhoods had moved to the suburbs.

Jefferson Park and Edison Park would be the safest because all the cops live there!

If you don't mind being a little farther out, take a look at the strip of Chicago that runs between Park Ridge and Norridge/Harwood Heights. North of Foster, along the Kennedy. Very clean, very quiet.
