This thread is just too bizarre for words...and so precise with numbers, too..

I apologize to everyone for my miscalculations. My annual salary will be between $19,000.00 to $22,000.00. And as I stated earlier I am single with no kids.

That's very very little, even for a single person. You'll get around $1,100 after taxes each month. I suppose you could find a really cheap apartment, but then with utilities, phone, food and a car you're not going to have any money left over at all really.

If the OP can find a place without having to own a car...it would help immensely.

My ideal monthly rent would be between $525 to $600.

Oh I just saw your job is in Bollingbrook....that's going to be hard without a car...it's doable, but it would require commute not only on the Metra commuter rail but also PACE suburban bus.

This is going to be a tough situation all around. You can probably rent a bedroom somewhere (i.e. with roommates) in that price range, but your transportation and food expenses will eat you alive. From the few details that I've gathered about your situation from this thread, I just fail to see how it's going to be sustainable. Is this a temporary position? Are you already in the Chicago area, or are you looking to move here? =

I am looking to relocate to Chicago for this employment opportunity. It is with a full time position with an organization so there will be opportunities for an increase in salary. For the opportunity that is presented, there will be future opportunities for me to advance my career. I have also considered the option of locating part time employment to supplement for income.

Yeah, my bad. Thrifty.
