Seattle is only warmer in the winter, just like San Francisco and Portland. It's rare for San Francisco to get above 75 degrees any time of the year. Seattle gets to the mid 70s but for a month or two of the year. Portland does get into the 80s but Chicago and NYC are still warmer. On average, Chicago is warmer than Seattle from April until October while November is BARELY warmer in Seattle.

All these are nice places, but honestly if you want hot weather in the summer, none of these (except for maybe a month in Portland) are good for that. For the record, Seattle is not that much warmer than NYC in the winter.

It is not that much warmer in Fall/Winter/Spring

October: 4 degrees warmer in NYC
November: 3 degrees F warmer in NYC
December: 2 degrees F warmer in Seattle
January: 8 degrees F warmer in Seattle
February: 8 degrees F warmer in Seattle
March: 3 degrees F warmer in NYC
April: 3 degrees F warmer in NYC
May: 6 degrees F warmer in NYC

8 degrees in the winter, about the same difference as NYC and Chicago, but NYC is warmer than Seattle for 9 months of the year on average and much hotter in the summer.

That's very extreme though to compare Oak Park of all places. In the city your taxes will be MUCH MUCH lower than that. My taxes are a little more than 1% of purchase price here in the city.

i kno u like to argue, but i lived in portland and been to seattle a lot
those averages dont mean noth, theres many days in ny when temps change from very cold to very warm next day so seattle's climate is not like nyc at all and nobody xcept u talkin bout summer temps when they say a place is colder or warmer, people always imply winter time and such
moscow, russia is hotter than seattle in the summer, but u dont hear anyone say seattle is colder than moscow cuz moscow is only hotter in the summer
jus like atlanta is prolly as hot as chi in the summer, people still say chicago is colder cuz winters/falls/springs are colder

What places are those? Probably unreliable places if they're doing that. Traffic is OK, it can be bad in some areas, but overall traffic is not as bad as places like D.C., SF or LA.
