Chicago in one day...
So I am moving to Chicago on Sunday!!!
Anyways, my father is helping me with the move and has NEVER visited Chicago. I have been here a couple times and just kind of explore until I find something interesting.
He will be in town for three days (day 1 for the move...day 2 for sightseeing...day 3 for leaving) so I want to find as much stuff to do on Day 2. Nothing expensive or anything...just some good times for a person whose never been here. Any suggestions?

What does he like to do? You can go to any of the museums. Or just walk around the neighborhoods. Go to China Town. Go have a drink at the Signature Room. Eat at some good restaurants.

Gosh, theres just far too much stuff to list. Where abouts will he be staying? Does he have the whole day? How much $$$ are you willing to spend? What are his tastes?

We will be moving into lakeview and he will be staying with me for the three nights.
I don't think he would be much into museums...but perhaps just eating at some good affordable restaraunts..maybe a good comedy club at night...maybe go up the sears tower.

It's been suggested before - do drinks at the Signature Room on the 95th floor of the John Hancock Building. A better way to spend your sightseeing $$ and way more fun than the Sears Skydeck.
I'd second the recommendation to do an river / architecture tour -- the boat tours are really fun and a total Chicago experience.

Go up the Hancock over the Sears Tower, its better. And when youre done you can eat at the Cheesecake Factory right at the west base of the tower.

Cheesecake factory is good and all, but I would never eat at a chain restaurant on vacation. There's about a million restaurants in that area that are different and interesting. What kind of food does he like? Interested in the pizza?

You get tons of food at the cheescake factory, but the food has always been pretty bland, IMO. Desserts are real good. You can definitely do better than that for dinner, maybe hop over there afterwards for some cheesecake.
