Default Re-Moving

Hi, I moved from Chicago to Portland OR 30 years ago. I haven't been there for about 20 years but I am thinking of moving back. At different times I lived in Garfield Park, West Rogers Park, Arcadia Terrace, and Ravenswood.

Are these still neighborhoods? Are there any new places that would be a good place to live? I'm looking for areas where the rents don't cost an arm and a leg so I imagine Lincoln Park is out.

There are a few other cities I will also be checking out.
