Default google maps "street view" of chicago - amazing!
Google has just updated their google maps to include "street view". Someone just drove up and down every single street in the city of Chicago in a van with a 360 degree camera taking pictures every second or so. Now anyone can "drive around town" without leaving their home! Amazing!

This is a GREAT tool for people interested in buying/renting in the city. It gives them a chance to look at the surrounding neighborhood, shops, etc. My wife and I spent all evening looking around the areas we're looking into. Killa sweet!

Google Maps "street view" in Chicago.


Click on the little yellow dude and drag him to a blue colored street. Click on him again and start looking around!

That is pretty cool, but some of the areas I wanted to see didnt have any pictures. Oh well....

I can tell what time of year the pictures of my apartment were taken. It is a bit bizarre to see pictures of the plants in my window on google.

Can anyone get the pics of Wrigleyville to pop up? I click on the little guy and the screen is just black, doesnt show anything near the Addison/Clark/Waveland area?

steve-o, we had the same problem at first on my wife's older version of firefox/mac. i don't know, but you might try making sure you're using all the right 'wares.
