That is what I thought. Doesn't really exist in that area that I know of. I am a fan of those places too - you have to go downtown (i.e. River North, Gold Coast, Streeterville, South Loop, West Loop) for it usually. A few in other areas like Wicker Park as well. I'm sure there are others strewn around but you have to go downtown for it. My favorite is the second floor bar area/lounge of Le Colonial in Gold Coast on Rush St. Drawing Room next door and in the basement is good too. Other good ones around too

Bar on Buena isn't terribly far from there. Nice place, but don't know how "upscale" you're looking for.
