Well I didn't receive anything in the mail, so I went online to see what I could find. Turns out there's a neat tool for finding tickets that you have: https://parkingtickets.cityofchicago...rchTickets.jsp

So if you're concerned about a ticket getting lost in the mail, this seems like a good place to look.

It's been over a week now since I originally posted this, so I think enough time has passed that if I had a ticket, it would be listed in the search.

I wouldn't be so sure! Keep checking.

Yes I knew about that site. I've sadly, stressfully, looked at it many a time

When it went yellow, my choices were to either keep going or stop right there, which would have at best left me blocking two lanes of traffic, and at worst sent me skidding away (my car doesn't handle slick roads very well), so I kept going. The light went red and there was a flash which I assume is the red light camera. The only way to have proceeded safely here was to keep going, so am I likely to get a ticket? Or is someone going to look at the photo and see a car proceeding through thick snow and filthy roads, and agree that I was doing the safe thing here and not ticket me?
If you crossed the intersection stop line on yellow= no ticket. It does not matter that the light turned red as you were in the middle of the intersection, IF your front tires were past the intersection stop lane.

edit: as I read more about your situation, the more I am sure you will NOT get the ticket. You should not be required to stop in the middle of intersection. Same goes for left turns on arrow light only. If you are half way past the stop line, you should not get a ticket if you complete your turn on the red.

If, on the other hand, you crossed the intersection stop line on red, then you get a ticket.

Unfortunately, it's true that tickets may show up weeks and may be a month after the incident. At least, it used to be like that.

On the other hand, the OP may have lucked out if there were snow covering their license plate or the camera or both.
