I don't know how to answer whether NWMH is a good place to work. Also, "which 'hood is the best option for us" is an extremely open-ended question without knowing anything about your criteria. What is your price range, what sort of atmosphere are you looking for in a neighborhood (do you want single family homes or highrises or something in between, do you want quiet family-oriented neighborhood or a nightlife area), what is your price range, does that range include utilities, are you looking to rent or buy, do you plan to own a car, how long of a commute can you tolerate, do you want to live in a courtyard building, a single family home, in a 3-flat, a townhome, et cetera. You need to tell us a little more about your needs because there are literally hundreds of options to choose from and we need some info to narrow it down.

Well I know it is one of the best hospitals in the state and country in terms of being treated. Other than that I do not know if it is great to work there.

NWM is a really highly regarded hospital. I know a few people who work there, and I've never heard anything particularly bad about it...

In terms of where to live, you may want to consider living near the Red Line train or any of the Lakeshore Drive express bus routes that go down Michigan Avenue. This would include everything from the Gold Coast up to Lincoln Park, Lakeview, Uptown, Edgewater, and Rogers Park. Or you could just live in Streeterville near the hospital itself.

The problem with NWMH is that there is very limited parking in the area, although I believe they have an employee lot. Transportaion options are great but less wonderful if the person is working nights or evenings.

We can tolerate up to 1200/mo, 1bd/1bth,and it would be great with utilities included, ( what is a 3 flat?) I guess we might need a car, so we can drive and check out neighbouring states, since we are from EU we wanna see some of USA. We like to go out to bars, and eat out. We do not have kids yet, so...
W/D is a plus, or just w/d hookups.
We can tolerate up to 1/2 h of commuting to work.
Sorry we have never been to Chicago, so we might be little lost and confused, and are from little country in EU,
Thanks for your help guys.
Is my english ok?

Your English skills are just fine. In most urban areas of the US, a 30" commute to a major hospital means you live pretty close to it. One hour is more the median.

If you don't want to travel for that long you should consider hospitals outside of urban areas also.

I think for $1200 you could get a 1 bedroom in River North or the Gold Coast and have a nice easy 15-20 minute commute. It's one of the nicest areas of the city, but it is expensive. $1200 is cutting it close, but it's doable. The only issue is parking will be very expensive. I would suggest not having a car. You can always rent one if you'd like to take a weekend trip. It will probably still end up costing you less than keeping a car in the heart of the city.
I would check out Craigslist.com. Here's a couple I found on a quick look:

You could get a really nice 1-BR in Lincoln Park or Lakeview for that rent. Or you could get a lesser apartment in the Gold Coast, River North, or Streeterville.

Keep in mind folks that their rent budget also includes utilities... that changes the dynamic of what's available in their price range a little. Finding a "nice" place in Lincoln Park (versus merely habitable) and still have enough left for utilities at $1200 can be pretty tricky.
