Hey all-

I've been living in Chicago for a little over a year now. My lease is currently on a month-to-month and my roommate recently informed me that he is moving out at the end of the month.

For the last year I have been in Ukrainian Village on Chicago Ave in between Damen & Western. My current location is pretty good, but (A) my landlord sucks and I'm tired of dealing with her and (B) I'd like to move into an area that is a bit more "young professional" and bit less "alternative."

My office is in Oakbrook, so I need easy access to the western suburbs, preferably I-290 since I-90 is brutal during rush hours. Basic requirements:

-- Easy access to Oakbrook (less than 45 minutes)
-- Easy access to the Loop (I spent the bulk of my time this last year in Wicker Park/Ukrainian Village because getting to the loop and Northside is a total pain from my current location
-- Good bar/restaurant scene within ten minutes walking
-- 1,000+ square feet, I don't want to feel like a sardine
-- Less than $1800/month for a two-bedroom

So far I have been looking at:
--Wicker Park (this location probably makes the most sense, but I would prefer to explore a new area of the city)
-- University Village/Pilsen (I feel like this would be a downgrade from my current location in terms of nightlife and dining but with the same demographic I am trying to get away from)
-- Noble Square (strong contender)
-- River West (few and far between w/in my price range)
-- West Loop (same thing)
-- Gold Coast (same thing)
-- Streeterville/Old Town (same thing)
-- Lincoln Park/Gold Coast (too far)

Just looking to see if there are any areas I am not thinking of that I should be considering, or if anyone has any other suggestions. Thanks!
