We always have one blizzard every 10-15 years. Seeing as the last one was in 99, I think mr. bigman can wait a few years until he starts to freak out over the demise of Chicago winters.

It blows that we don't get them more frequant.

I love nasty winters.

Chicago is just plane lucky. Wouldn't that influence people to stay here or move here cuz even though we get cold we don't get big storms or natral disasters.

I second that! This is utterly stupid already. Chicago gets winter, always has, always will now end this already! We have snow on the ground, what do you want, snow to the top of the Sears Tower like in the scenes in "The Day after Tommorrow"?

All i want is a 67 snow. Nice experience and something to remember.

I like bad weather. Even in the summer when we get bad thunder storms i sleep like a baby.

Don't get stuck in one place, feel free to move a little! Christmas in Minnesota, 4th of July in Sarasota, and don't forget about Ketchikan, AK anytime you feel like singing in the rain

Whether it's in Chicago or in Containment Area for Relocating Yankees, NC, they always get so irritated when they see other folk having some quality good old fashion fun.

Cool God loves Chicago

I have lived all over the Chicagoland area my entire life. You can't find a better place on Earth. You get the best and worst of all types of weather. If you don't like cold just wait a few months. If you don't like the heat wait some more. This is one place you live and don't have to pay for a vacation. The city, and so many suburbs, have most everything you could want to do. If you don't like to shovel, hire someone. If you hate the heat, turn up the a/c or get to the beach. As far as "disasters", you won't find anything all that great here. A tornado or two a year. They are nothing compared to Texas. You just have to know how to prepare. If you still hate our city and surrounding areas.......move. You will be the one losing out. You get the most of everything. The changes of seasons are for surprises, fun and great expectations for life. Who in their right mind would want the same thing day after day?
