Gay! For sure! Just don't be cruising near the lakefront looking for anonymous partners. That doesn't sit well with the straight folks. Boystown is very gay. Duh.

I have lived in Chicago my entire life, i am a gay man. I recently moved to Woodridge (Naperville) area...and miss the city very much because of the gay friendly atmosphere. My boyfriend lives in Lakeview/Lincoln Park area and it is very gay friendly, we walk holding hands and kiss on the street without worrying. When in Naperville we tend to get stares and even one time, a mother with her two kids saw us holding hands walking down the street and she steered her kids accross the street. we have a good laugh about it but it is just the nature of a more conservative richer neighborhood. In general Chicago is very gay friendly as everyone has said, but i think it is important to remind everyone that even in our very friendly city there are still people who think backwards. You have a chance, albeit a small chance, but a chance none the less to be heckled by an idiot, they do not represent the entire city. We love LGBT people in our city!

Of course! It could be contagious. Her kids might see you and become gay. (To her)

To you for having such a great attitude about people who teach their children mistrust and misunderstanding.

In my experience CHICAGO is NOT gay friendly! I'm not really GAY, I'm a straight crossdresser - just label me - "DIFFERENT" ... like DENNIS RODMAN. But I catch lots of crap like "he's a GAY NERD..." or whatever as if people don't want to be my friends or that I'm not worth keeping employed. And I had never had a job in Chicago that lasted over 13 months because of discrimination that I'm GAY!

You know, scores of thousands of gay people manage to hold down jobs just fine in this town. I wonder if your problems revolve more around the fact that you're simply a nutwhack.

Maybe those other gay people are big time ass kissers. Me, I get restructured out of a job or my temp to permanent jobs don't go permanent...

Whenever you think the problem is anything/everything but you, chances are it's you. When you're left to insult tens of thousands of people as a way to explain why they can hold a job and you can't, chances are the problem isn't them, it's you.

Your BS big time... The problem is every intolerant employer that I had... not me! Why does it alway matter if I crossdress away from work? I'm a NICE GUY THAT GETS ALONG WITH EVERYONE AT WORK!

If you cross dress away from work, how would they even know? How could they make a decision based on something they don't know?

They spy on me after work. Because as a CAD Designer, engineer, or technical writer - maybe I have access to design data and info and I could always potentially be a spy if I wanted too.

Or maybe I buy too much womens clothes as a guy and the reputation spread around...
