huh.....love looking at old Chicago.....Walter J looks weird!
I wasnt born into 1980 and didnt watch the news until I was like 9 so I didnt reconizge any of the other anchors..
Never heard of Bill Kurtis? One of the most distinctive voices in media period. Still does some programs on cable (American Justice, Cold Case Files. Also narrated the movie "Anchorman"). Also used to host "The New Explorers" on PBS back in the late 80s/early 90s, and anchored the CBS Morning News.
Harry Porterfield still does some occasional "soft news" stories for ABC7.
I remember watching these guys on Fridays than at 7 Dukes of harzzard Dallas and Falcon Crest than these guys again. remember the big snow of 79 these guys covered it bigtime.
Unrelated, but I randomly ran across this video while searching for something else from the 1996 Democratic Convention. But the bus driver gives a great tour of the city, and I think you can sense the pride Chicagoans have in their city (although I cant say Ive ever gotten a bus driver this friendly )
