I ordered me a thin crust from Giordano's on the 6800 block of North Sheridan and...... I fell in love! I forgot how good pizza could really taste. I was stuck with the knock offs and chain restaurants and I was sick of those places - literally got sick last time I had Domino's. I also got me a Al's Beef on W Ontario the next night.... ok, ok, ok, another thread but let me just say... yum-o!

Default Yes to Giordiano's

I went to the Giordiano's on Jackson Blvd. less than one block east of the Sears Tower about two weeks ago. Yummy!

This is a true story: I got a small pizza but still had one piece leftover. Rode the "El," went back to my hotel and took a rest. The next day, I still had not eaten it. I crammed the pizza in my already jam-packed suitcase and flew it back to Kentucky!!! Seriously! The first thing I did when I got to my house was warm up the piece in the microwave and eat it. Yes, it was that good.

Try Gullivers and Calo... They are within striking distance of where you live.

Are any of these good pizza places in or near Wicker Park? I saw a place called Pizza Metro but refuse to go until I hear something about it.
There's always Piece... more of a "gourmet" pizza place, but not so "gourmet" that it's too snooty for a "normal" palate.

Delivery guy was nice and on time, pizza was unbelievably hot and fresh out of the oven. Great service! My only gripe was that my thin crust had way too much onions and green peppers for my taste which slightly threw off the balance. But still a great pizza!

This thread is not for suburban pizza places. Since when is Northbrook or Zion Chicago?

Pehaps I will check the places you mentioned someday though.

I got sick as a dog from the Giordanos on the East Side, back in 1979 when we were doing a blast furnace reline at Wisconsin Steel. We were working round the clock and I was on nights, on Saturday we'd send out for supper, usually from the Golden Shell. One night we got Giordanos and I got so sick I had to hold up in the bussel pipe the rest of the night.

Never had Giordanos again.

Anybody else remember the Shell?
