Might as well be Hammond then. I do not think that location exists anymore.

Man, there's alot that doesn't exist over there anymore. And now the real estate jerks are even trying to steal the neighborhood's name. I wonder how many people on this forum don't even know Chicago has an East Side.
You know the area east of the tracks by Calumet Park and beach could be nice, real nice.

The more active people on this forum know about East Side. I realize that doesn't fit the stereotype of Northsiders not knowing anything about the city south of Roosevelt, but most of us are active because we have an intense interest in our city -- all of it.

No doubt you know the city.
My wife lived on the North Side for 15 years and had never heard of the East Side or Pullman etc. When we were dating I'd take her on tours of Chicago---Pullman, the site of the Pony Inn, the Blues Brothers Bridge, site of the Fort Dearborn Massacre, where Weiss was gunned down, where South Works and Horsefaced Mary's was; stuff like that.
I know a few South Siders who don't know much about the city north of Roosevelt. Well north of Manny's or Taylor Street anyway.

I ordered from Pompei at 2955 N. Sheffield recently and was suprised how good it was. The crust is very thick and chewy like a soft bread. Do not be fooled though this place is pretty good. Not Chicago or N.Y. style at all, but very filling.
