Usually if it is a name of a person you don't translate it like that. Spelling is one thing. But in Sweden we wouldn't translate somebodies name if it was Smith. If there is no Swedish version of the surname Smith we would leave it alone.

Ã…man is a pretty common name and I don't think it means anything. (Ã… ) means stream , river and (Man) means....well Man.

But if you in English try to use Riverman as a translation, and then translate it back to Swedish again nobody would translate it back to Ã…man.

Ã…man is just one of those name that was created with no real meaning behind it. It can't be translated.

Aaman would be the best English version and spelling.
