On the bright side, maybe it will keep the old farts out of their huge ***** Cadillacs that they insist have to have the giant rear tail lights (about 12 inches tall) that they insist on driving in the left hand lane in, and of course have to have the left hand turn signal blinking away for miles on end doing 10 mph under the limit in a car they can barely see over the steering wheel in!

"I don't get it as the person gets older, the car car gets bigger and the slower they drive...I mean you would think they would want to drive fast because they don't have much time left and what is with them backing up? Apparently they just think, " I'm old, I've lived a long life... I'm just backin it out..." Jerry Seinfeld

YUP! Better for putting in drive thru's at places like Subway restaurants where they seem to be a target for old duffers driving through their front windows. LOL!

Chicago had nothing to do with this, we all think it's kinda stupid.

Blame the Governor, who's only accomplishments in office has been finding more interesting ways to waste everyone's time being STUPID STUPID STUPID and bankrupting the state government....

I wish he'd been caught with his pants around his ankles like Spitzer... would've been a convenient way to ditch him...

Yeah, seriously....are we sure he's not Client 10? Or 8? Or 7? Or something.

Maybe we can just make up some kind of weird sex rumor involving Blago. I'm sure people would eagerly believe any excuse to dump that imbecile.

The lt. governor is Pat Quinn, a populist of the first order.

I recall seeing G-Rod on the news pitching the free ride idea to seniors at a mixed use facility that was part assisted living and part regular apartments for active seniors.

He was playing the cheerleader. "Who wants a free ride!" he'd yell. About half of the seniors raised their hands. Half of those who did raise their hands did so sheepishly and without enthusiasm. Several seniors said to Blago that they thought it was a dumb idea, and that if he wants to give out free rides he should do so for the working poor.

Blatant pandering is dumb enough. Blatant pandering that doesn't even energize those who are receiving the benefit is even dumber.

I'm reminded of Jim Hodges, the former governor of South Carolina who, seeing his chances for reelection slipping away, staged a mock blockade on one of the interstates to bar trucks carrying radioactive waste from entering SC. It was a valid concern: SC was getting stuck with waste from states that weren't holding up their end of the bargain. Still, that stupid piece of pointless grandstanding was pathetic. And THAT didn't even cost anyone any real money.

It's a neat trick to create a giveaway that is incredibly underinclusive and incredibly overinclusive all at the same time. But Blago managed to find a way. I'm not sure that's a skill a politician should be bragging about though.

I met Blago on Saturday and shook his hand. I have to say, I was very pleased with my ability to express my displeasure with his tenure and still say it diplomatically enough to not be a jerk about it, especially on such short notice.
