Red face New Grad Nurse: Chicago Area

Alright so I need some help. I have been applying now for the past 2 months to many many positions for nursing. I will graduate in May 2008 and I am hoping to get my job lined up. I am relocating from Peoria to the Chicago area and looking for suburb or chicago area nursing positions in Pediatrics, Peds Intensive care, or Neonate Intensive Care. I am having a very hard time finding open positions that are for New Grads. I have applied to the following places: RUSH, Central DuPage Hospital, Lutheren General (Park Ridge), Loyola University Hospital (Chicago) and Comers Childrens Hospital. So I am at a loss of where else to apply too. I have searched all over and am having a hard time finding available positions. I have not heard back from a single company. I am well qualified and know that pediatric positions can be hard to find but I have worked as nurse extern for the past year in a PICU and PIC. I dont understand what Im doing wrong. So if anyone knows some great hospitals that have open positions or any other suggestions - I would really appreicate some help!!! Thanks!

I don't know, but some of the other hopsitals in the area are Mt. Sinai, Northwestern (or Children's Memorial if you are working with kids), UIC, U of C, Cook County, Evanston Northwestern, just to name a few.
Have your classmates secured jobs yet? Perhaps it's too early to find a nursing job? I'm not sure.
