Yes, Friday- 3 days ago.

I do love it already. There is a ton of interesting food nearby and I can walk to the Kedzie Brown line in about a minute and a half. And like I said, I'm super close to work and school. What's not to love?

And honestly it doesn't deliver a whole lot more than that, which is why I'm kind of surprised that I've developed an attachment to this neighborhood, and it grows every day. There's good access to public transportation and there's some nice restaurants and shops scattered around -- yes, you do have to seek them out, but that's what makes this area more of an adventure than neighborhoods where all the cutesy little shops and bistros and what-not are all laid out in row for you. I've been in this area almost 4 years now and I'm still discovering things about it. And IMO Albany Park has the best non-gentrified urban vibe in all the city.
I'd say I agree. My new apartment is much better than my place in Bridgeport, and is a better deal overall. I decided that I would rather live in a vintage courtyard building, and I have that now. The only 'meh' thing about where I live is the fact that I'm ON Kedzie. My block in Bridgeport was much, much quieter; I'm still getting used to people yelling at 4 in the morning and ambulances wailing by.

You must be getting a good deal. Bridgeport seems cheaper overall than comparable places in Albany Park but you definitely can't put a price on commute times and convenience.

Perhaps so, but it didn't seem out of the ordinary to me. I was paying $610 a month PLUS all utilities for a 500 sq ft place in bridgeport. Now I'm in a nice 700 sq foot place and all I pay is electric, for $685/mo.

In the winter, I feel like I make out like a bandit. My last gas bill was $86, so I'm actually coming out better.
