hey, im going to be moving to chicago for a kaplan course for 3 months, and Id like to find an apartment where I can stay for that time period (sept 18 to dec 31). Id like a furnished room with its own separate bathroom. Im 25, male, pakistani, from NY.

Please send me a text at 631-988-1962 or message me here. thanks!

I need it close to kaplan testprep at 205 w randolph st in chicago city. I believe devon st would be a good choice if available.

Devon Avenue is about 10 miles from 205 W. Randolph in downtown Chicago, and the public transportation between the two is not good. However, if you must live in an Indo-Paki neighborhood, that's the largest one in the city.

I suggest you look close to the train lines and closer to the center of the city. Albany Park, near the Lawrence and Kimball station on the brown line, has a substantial Muslim population (not a majority like Devon).

Actually it doesn't need to be in a indian/pakistani neighborhood, just need a place where I could live alone w/ my own bathroom and for cheap, short-term as well. Usually desi families are more willing to do so. I really have no clue about Chicago at all but all I need is a place that I can commute with public transportation to the kaplan center and back. Preferably with a decent gym nearby but that can probably be sorted out.

I'm also contemplating whether or not to drive to Chicago so I can bring my car, but I'm not sure what the parking deal is there.

Presidential Towers in Chicago's West Loop area would be a great choice. Easy commute to the downtown test center and public transit. A lot of desi's live here.

Thanks. Looks expensive though, but I sent them an email asking about prices anyway. I was also considering just coming to Chicago a few days early and stay in a hotel or something, and then look for apartments on my own, several days before I actually start my Kaplan course. I'm also a bit afraid of finding an apartment online now and then going over to realize it's not as good as depicted online.

Also, I called a few desi restaurants/shops in Chicago and they said there are tons of apartment for rent ads in person there which would be way cheaper than finding something online.
