There is no Mafia. Never has been. So shut your mouth.

How was that? Scary?

I can tell you this...about 7-8 years ago, I was selling Nextel phones for a living for Nextel as an outside business to business sales rep. This meant that I went to businesses with phones, explained features and rate plans and then placed the oder for the customer and phones were activated and drop shipped to where they wanted them shipped. I'd then return to help them set up their phones and explain their billing. My territory was Cicero, Berwyn, Elmwood Park, Melrose Park, Stickney, Bedford Park, Riverside, North Riverside and a small part of Chicago's west side. Most of my customers bought these particular phones because of Nextel's Direct Connect - 2 way radio feature. Most of these guys were in businesses that involved some sort of transport - vending, trucking, construction, meat packing, towing, etc . For awhile there, I was making some great money- making anywhere from $25.00 to $100 for every phone I sold plus a salary and these guys bought lots of phones. Some of them had 3 phones just for themselves. I always thought that was weird. Who needs 3 phones all with different numbers? Well fast forward some years later and I wound up seeing lots of my former customers on the news being indicted for the Hired Truck Scandal. So it seems that these areas had mob activity. I will say, these customers were nothing but nice. They demanded excellent service and would call me all hours of the day and night with issues about their phone (they hated calling customer service). I'd get calls from strangers saying Angelo referred me to you...I need to buy 50 phones. If you provided them with exceptional service, their loyalty was immense. I had some perks from a handful of my clients; free towing services, lol and free meat when I visited the meat packing plant and a good meal at a firehouse once. So that's my little story.

Yeah, my information was a bit off (a friend from nearby River Grove told me that they found him at Armand's). He was actually in an alley on the 2300 block of 74th Avenue about a block from Armand's. But yeah, he did frequent the place, and is rumored to have met with Rosemont's Mayor Stevens there. Also, Armand's is where the famous "Last Supper" photo was taken with all of the mob capos eating together.

The Outfit on trial: The Last Supper or the making of Lombardo?

And there are space aliens in Chicago who live disguised are normal people. I saw it on "Men in Black".

I swear, these days it seems like there should be an IQ test required before you're allowed to post on city-data.

Of course there is mafia in Chicago. It's called politicians and their territory extends to Springfield. Da mob boss Blago and his pitbull Daley. I was talking to my grandma on the phone the other day about King Richard I and II and she said "they even talk like thugs." Coming from a 90 year old woman, that cracked me up!
