Hi
I found a great apt on w. North Ave. I know the Austin neighborhood is pretty bad but what about a bit north of that? Safe enough for two chicks who will be taking public transit?

Safe-ish, I guess? Working class Mexicans. Some blight, but nothing like Austin.

This is always a good tool. It lets you search for crime incidents that occurred within a 1/2 mile radius of a given address.

It's livable.
Nothing like what most people on here are used to.
(Wickers, Lincolns, Logans, Hydes)

These people might not know too much about it.

I have family and friends there. I'm there a lot.
Basically it's working class Mexicans, a bit of Cuban and Puerto Rican.

There is gang activity and crime.

IT gets crazy on september 16th lol.

There isn't any trains, just buses. So if that's what you meant by Public trans, then it's cool.

Majority Mexican restaurants and businesses, so you aren't going to find anything like you'd see in the more "popular" neighborhoods.

IIRC North Ave. is the south border of Cragin where it meets Austin. The farther west you go, the better. The Galewood part of Austin, west of Austin Ave. (6000 West), is nice (as I remember it). The farther north you go in Cragin, toward the Polish neighborhoods to the north and west, is also better but you said you are on North Avenue so going north is not an option unless you select a different apartment.

I don't believe North avenue ever hits the Belmont-Cragin neighborhood. You must be talking about Armitage?

Armitage and what?
