How did it go in 2005 when the Sox won the world series?

I didn't live in Chicago then.

I have heard this before from other people as well, not just on CD. What do you think will really happen?
I somehow doubt that. It'll be rowdy but this is not Detroit. The north side as a whole is pretty affluent, as are Cubs' fans from a demographic perspective, so the seeds for rioting and burning aren't really there. And because the MLB season is now so long, the WS title will come around November 1, and it'll be cold outside.

Plus, the Cubs were in the playoffs last year, have been winning all of this year, and a WS win is an expected result. So there's not that surprise element like there was in years like 1989, 1998 and 2003 when unexpected good seasons followed draughts and Wrigleyville got really nuts. And Chicago has had a lot of championships of late with the Blackhawks, so Chicago sports fans as a whole know how to deal with it.

I imagine it will be similar to the Blackhawks, only quite a bit larger. The spirit will be roughly the same. Just more people.

If they win, I will be staying in the 'burbs on the day of that parade. The streets will be absolutely filled everywhere.

Note that maybe 2/3 of the city bleeds Cubbie Blue. There are more Bears fans here than Cubs fans. But that said, the 110 year drought is extremely significant. Surely the entire Metra will have Cubs jersey's on. Blech.

We North Siders will still be right here, not as sober as last year but happier.

Chicago will be sucked into the space-time rift generated by the breaking of The Curse. The last thing the people of Indiana will hear is the sound of Northsiders throwing molotov cocktails at each other in ecstasy.

Keep in mind the Cubs were televised on WGN for many years and have a fan base that reaches all parts of the country. People will be going nuts all over the place.

I live near Wrigley Field. Pretty sure my condo will become rubble.

I know that everybody in Chitown will be rooting for the Cubbies to break the curse this year. But I remember hearing that at some point in the not-too-distant past Chicago was divided, with the Cubs having their biggest local fan base on the South Side and the White Sox having theirs on the North Side. Is/was there any truth to that?

Cubs will not host game 7 of the World Series. The AL won the all star game, so the American League will have home field advantage.
