Very true. I agree also.

I officially gave up on the El. I now take the Metra and walk all the way from Olgavie to my office off of Wabash and Wacker. The Metra is reliable, smoothe, and there is almost always a seat. (Plus it's about half the transit time from Evanston.) It's worth the longer walk and the pricier fares. Plus, I actually love the walk through the Loop! (I haven't had to do it in the rain or snow, yet though, lol.) The only downside is getting the willpower not to go into the zillions of Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, and other coffee shops every time I walk!

Now they took out all the benches at the Addison Blue Line stop. Why? If you're going to consistently run trains late, at least give me and my bad knees a place to sit while I wait for a train to arrive at its own leisure. Tools.

Maybe they're working on something? Everytime I go there the escalator is being worked on, I just figured maybe there's some sort of construction.

Blago makes more plans for free rides without a way to pay for them. Unreal.
Free rides for disabled to cost RTA at least $5 million -- chicagotribune.com

Blago is obviously Batman, and Chicago transit is obviously the Joker. Don't you get it? Blago's saving the day for everybody else, but how are these people going to utilize their "free rides" if they don't have a bus to take anymore? I wish they'd just find a reason to put Blago in jail already.

Nope. They're just gone. They replaced the weather shelters, and the new ones have no benches. Jackasses.

As a 'master degreed moron' myself, I can assure you, it was not me. I like CTA benches, quite a bit actually (and have have probably idled away hundreds of hours of my life sitting on them waiting for a bus or train).
