My complaint is: Why do so many people on the bus or train keep standing even after a number of empty seats have opened up? The problem with that is, when other people need to get up and exit the bus/train, if you're standing and you don't need to be, you're in the way.
If I'm standing and a seat opens up near me, I pause for a moment to give someone else a chance at taking the seat, then if no one does, I sit down.

I don't even blame them for being stinky, but if you've ever been in a car that completely empties out because of one of them you know what I mean. I've never seen so many people covering their noes, switching cars while the train is moving, laughing/crying because it's so bad etc.

Many, many, many ,times if have had to deal with that! But that one in January was exceptional!

And it wasn't one of those "who smells?" situations, we knew who it was, because there was ONE person sitting on that end, while everyone else crowded the other end.
A few days later, I'm again going to class, and the same guy gets on. I smelled nothing. He sat on the same end I did, and it was pretty crowded. So we've gone a few stops, and all of a sudden, this man takes off his shoe and sock, and a sonic burst of funktitude assaulted my nose. Literally, everyone got up and either crowded the other end of the car, or went to another. I did not know that one foot was capable of producing something so foul.

I think I have seen this man as well.

well if 15 seats open up but i'm getting off at the next stop, what's the point in sitting down? that's usually when I "stand in everyone's way."

Ah yes, nothing says "a ride on the CTA" like visible smell rays...

I actually had some clod hold the door open for, like, ever, waiting for his friends to leisurely walk down the platform and onto the car. I had sh*t to do and I finally got so fed up that I pushed him off the train. He was not amused and luckily (well, by design actually) I pushed him far enough that he couldn't get back on before the doors closed.
