I came here with my wife so we got a hotel,we went to downtown chicago to eat(I admit i like the restaurants here).When on our way to the hotel,some little thug, snached my wife's purse, and i cant believe people just sat there and watched. Luckily he dropped the purse while running..

Sorry to hear your wife was the victim of petty theft, but that event could have happened in any city anywhere. You certainly have to be more vigilant and cognizant of your personal belongings in urban areas, even those perceived as safe.

I've heard of purse snatchings in Atlanta.
Chicago does not have the type of aggressive panhandlers or street performers that I have seen in other cities.
