I think it should be two thirds to override a veto when there is such a small voting amount.

FAIL.
The vote to override was: 11 commissioners voted yes, four voted no and two present.
"But the five Republicans on the board quickly pushed forward a measure that would repeal the tax hike over two years. Though that measure passed, Stroger said he would veto it, too."

VOTE THIS PIECE OF POND SCUM OUT PLEASE.

Stroger looked like such a pompous MOD CUT in the local coverage I saw tonight. Please don't even try to claim that you want to keep the tax in place to maintain the reduced-cost and free clinics. This is only to line his pockets.

Agreed. And his tough talkin' "lead, follow, or get out of the way" cliche was particuarly vomit inducing. What a joke our county government is.

CC Board currently in midst of debate over repeal of half the increase. Apparently there are 14 votes to overturn. Vote should take place shortly.

^ It is a step in the right direction if they repeal some of the tax; but far from enough. What Cook County giveth back the state taketh away. ^

Sims flipped and looks like Stroger's veto will not be overridden.
