What I don't get about Rauner is this... he already won the election, right? It's over. He won. He's the governor of Illinois. So how come I see him running ads on television every night? I don't remember any other governor, ever, still running tv ads all day, all night, constantly, while sitting in office. He's not going to change anyone's opinion, it's a waste of money.

I agree with you jwaiter. I support Rauner and hope he can get some reform passed, but the ads he has done since being elected are pointless.

Rauner is running for reelection and he needs the people to finally get off their duffs and fire the @holes that have and are continuing to destroy this state.

Rauner made 3 false assumptions when he ran.
-that the politicians (by that I mean Democrats) in power recognize there is a major structural problem with the govt that requires reform
-that the politicians in power want to solve the problems of this state
-that the politicians in power are interested in doing what is right for the majority of citizens they are supposed to be serving

Since all three have been proven wrong the only option is to rally the people to remove said politicians. Unfortunately I don't see that happening. Most of the people that recognize the problems have already left the state and taken their votes with them and many of the rest will keep voting for the same racketeers that keep inflicting harm on them.

I wish the best of luck to Rauner, the problem is that the beast he is fighting continues to get elected. That beast is Madigan of course. I feel like you could elect Jesus himself as governor of IL and without Madigan and his cronies being eliminated nothing can be done to save our state.

Madigan has had since the 1990's (when IL started spending more than it took in) to correct our budget issues. Instead he sat by and contributed to the mess we are in. Rauner has had a little over 1 year to try and fix it yet somehow people find a way to blame him for this mess (and lack of action).

20 posts deleted for being off topic. This thread is about Bruce Rauner. Back on topic please - leave national politics out of it also.

Bruce needs more flannel and duct tape and a well-staged ad in front of tools and a work bench, perhaps?

What do I think about Rauner? He needs to be voted out.

He't great. However, he can't do much because he is surrounded by democrats. He's trying to do all the right things. And those complaining probably never liked any illinois or chicago politician. Who likes Rahm? People in Illinois keep bitching, but they keep electing these people to impossible jobs.

His new commercials to get reelected make me laugh hysterically! He claims he can fix Illinois, really cause he's already governor and the state just keeps getting worse financially!

Chicago is dead last fiscal stability! North Dakota ranks #1, Neighboring Indiana is ranked 8th, with Wisconsin at 15 and Michigan at 31!!

I don't like either Rauner or Madigan. They are working together to make sure there is never a budget. I suppose Rauner can say, correctly, that he knows nothing about politics so you can't expect him to get anything done. Madigan just refuses to. In a just world they would both get voted out of office.
