From what I understand they are fairly strict about not allowing it to get creepy, but not sure that I would want to live in a barracks type situation when starting a new job...

I stayed there about a year ago and the hostel had more of a family vibe to it. I saw younger people, school groups, and even families staying there. Quite a different atmosphere than hostels in a place like Berlin or Prague...

Why not Air Bnb? It seems to be a possibility. You might have to stay in a couple different places.

No kidding... Don't be sarcastic! When I was younger I did exactly what I said. I moved to Bowling Green and Houston, and I did a little bit of living in my minivan while looking for an Apt. I interspersed taking a bath every 3 days by going to Motel6.

Nowadays I entirely live in my minivan as a survivalist thing to do, until I get more finances through various ways of making money.
