If a family goes to a waterpark once or less a year it doesnt mean tthat's all they do. Make any sense to you?

It sounds like you only take the houseplants to carefully manufactured outdoor activities, and might be the first to complain if the wave height isn't just right.

The fact that a parent can complain that there's not enough to do in a city this size, with our amenities, is mind-boggling. It just reflects the creativity-level of the parent.

Its interesting that you stooped to making a baseless accusation about my kids.

I always like to take my children (ages 8, 10,and 12) from our hometown of Milwaukee, to chicago on weekends for small getaways. Millenium Park (Maggie Daley Park for the kids, in particular). I think I've taken them to Navy Pier (very much a touristy place) 1 or 2 times. But I prefer to take them to the various ethnic festivals, since we do not have the amount of ethnic fairs that Chicago has. Lincoln Park Zoo is also great, and is free to enter. A city this big, it would be difficult to get bored!

No, "It sounds like..." is not an accusation. Your daughter sounds smart and interesting, so why not take her to interesting places? See posts above for ideas..

For a city with so many people who show arrogance about having no need for the surrounding burbs, two of the top fastest growing attractions in the US, disc golf and kayaking parks, have to be traveled far into the burbs for. Its probably close to an hour and a half from Chicago to Roundlake and Yorkville.

Im serious about my ex taking them to anything and everything artsy. They're very active kids who also like challenging outdoor activities.
