They sell it at Butera market. I like the occasional green river float made with vanilla ice cream. Brings me back to when my gram and I used to go out for floats.
Also butera sells the orange and cream dog n suds. And dog n suds rootbeer.

Yeah...we used to do the pop and icecream floats thing too. My ma called them cows...like a black cow was with pepsi, purple cow was icecream and grape pop, green cow...etc.

I saw Green River in the Jewel Osco. I got addicted to that stuff for a while, and they stock it at Restaurant Depot. A friend of mine owns a deli, and I got him to pick me up 2 cases last summer. I was the most popular guy among my native Chicago friends...

You know....okay this isn't exactly a Chicago item here, but maybe someone else knows what I"m talking about. We used to drive over the border to WI, b/c you know, Chicagoans think WI is the country, and that's where we go for our childhood vacations ...LOL. Okay, we would do the whole stop by the "farm" and pick up some cheese and so forth...there was a place that would sell cream soda in jugs...but it tasted like rootbeer...like a clear, cream rootbeer. That stuff was soooo good that I STILL remember it.
At least we still have Filbert's Old Time Root Beer, right?

Fair warning: Green River is really more of a nostalgia pick for most people. It's REALLY sweet. Still, a good summertime sody-pop.

Didn't you read the news story? The Dr Pepper plant in Indiana blew up. No Dr Pepper in the upper Midwest. Riots in the streets!
