I feel bad for making an entire thread about this one small question, but curiosity had gotten the better of me.

Somebody told me that you can't get Dr. Pepper in Chicago, only Mr. Pibb.

Please tell me this is a terrible rumor. (I'm slightly addicted to Dr. Pepper)

Mr. Pibb is the one you would have a hard time finding. There is Dr. Pepper in just about all stores.

Whew! Thanks!

Like I said, I feel bad for devoting a whole thread to this question...but it's not like there's a chatroom here.

I find this thread hilarious.

Not because you asked, so much. More that this rumor exists.

Other completely untrue, but totally trivial rumors*.

Ham in Chicago, by law, must be smoked.

Car taxes in Chicago are 10% higher for imported cars than for domestic cars.

Chicago's official "Brat Pack" member is Rob Lowe.

Due to a strange line item in Chicago's gambling ordinances, Chicago citizens may not appear on "The Price is Right".

*None of the above rumors have ever actually circulated. Until today. Pass 'em on.

I am adicted to Dr. Pepper as well but I limit my intake. I know there are areas of the US where its harder to find in fast food places.

I was thrilled when I was in the UK and was able to find it there in Tescos.

You will also find several specialty pops in the area: Green River (popular on St. Pats day) and Berghoff rootbeer. I don't know if they are available anywhere else. But try them. bottled by clover club bottling still I believe?

I find both Dr. Pepper and Mr. Pibb easily in the area, more so the former.

Are you SERIOUS? Do they still make Green River? I used to love that stuff!

Do you live near a Scooby's Red Hots? They still serve it there. And if you opt to buy the 32 oz. drink, you get free refills for life. In the summer I always keep my cup in the car and swing by Scooby's when Im in the mood for Green River.

Steve...I don't live near a Scooby anything. I'm a misplaced Chicagoan, currently doing time on the west/left coast/
