Santana Energy - Scam? (Oak Park: sales, 2009, attorney)

Anybody ever gotten a call from an outfit called Santana Energy?

This guy called up and was trying to get me to sign up with them and get some blah blah blah "guaranteed rate of 99 cents per therm" blah blah blah "still get bill from Peoples Gas" blah blah blah "$500 savings package". He was going to put a "verifier" on the line, etc. etc. etc.

It sounded like some sort of hustle so I asked to get the information in writing mailed to me. The sales rep kept up with his little spiel, so I hung up. A quick google search turned up a mish mash of stuff, including a log of complaint calls to the city utility board.

I need to remember to let the answering machine pick up more often - anybody who really wants to talk calls my cell. (Looking at my first bill from Peoples Gas, I paid $.86 per therm this month)

We have been getting those calls in Oak Park, Dec 2008 to Feb 2009 repeatedly. It sounds like a scam since local utility would already know all the info they are asking for. Has there been any update?

Santanna Energy tried to get me to enter into a contract with them for a 3 flat building I owned and I declined after careful research.
