This boosterism is unseemly and more suited to insecure climbers living in tank towns like, oh, Nashville or Atlanta.

What's a 'tank town'?

Edit.. Just looked it up. Never heard that phrase before.

I just looked it up too - it's a "small and unimportant town." LOL. San Antonio might be a better fit.

Funny thing about San Antonio, people here seem to not give a damn about what other people think of it. Kind’a like Chicago people.

Chicago people definitely care about what other people think of it. Visit any Chicago vs. Toronto thread on C-D.

Anyway, I like Chicago and don't have anything against San Antonio. Just thought your comment was uncalled for. I'm no Atlanta booster - it has pros in addition to significant cons, but living there I try to make the most of it.

I can't imagine that anything but a small group of Chicagoans have the attitudes towards San Antonio that some of the forumers suggested.

In fact, we see ourselves very much in competition with San Antonio and they're #1, not us, in that regard.....but we're proud enough of having unquestionably the second best riverwalk in the nation....and, like Avis, "we try harder"

San Antonio is one of those rare cities....like Boston, San Francisco, and New Orleans....that really set that "place apart" feeling, the uniqueness.

(ooops.....I won't delete but see I was wrong.....didn't realize that was about Atlanta)

You moved in Texas? Thought you were in Florida.
