Default Lots of options

Here's one site I've been looking at for apartments, it's a nice color coded layer on top of google maps. Just click an area for the neighborhood name.

Real Living Helios Rentals - Lakeview, real estate in Chicago and Surrounding Areas

Also, there's a cool site called dreamtown (just google it) that has a decent map, plus nice little videos for most of the neighborhoods.

Other than that you can easily do a google images search or something, because there is some variation on the boundary definitions that I've seen scattered around online.

Yeah, we actually used one of their agents when we bought our condo and we got a nice-size poster to put on the door so we have our remedial neighborhood reference at the ready.

BTW, the city's GIS map is very nice; it has school locations, fire/police stations, zip codes, census tracts, community areas, neighborhood boundaries, and more.

As far as I know, Wicker Park is part of West Town. So you'll sometimes see it listed ony as West Town, but this could also include Ukranian Village and other areas that make up West Town.

Good luck.

Note:to obsurd, LookoutKids second image posted is the official map of the 77 neighborhoods. Wicker Park does not exist there and it is West Town until Kedzie then Humboldt park. Dreamtown's is also great and is from a real estate perspective so you will see the 'created' 'hoods. Good luck!

I've never noticed before that Humboldt Park's eastern border is Kedzie on the "Community Area" map, but Western Ave. on the neighborhood map. I've always thought of that border as Western, since that's where Wicker Park and Bucktown both end. Most others in that area seem to agree with this too!

That is a common misconception. The interesting thing is that Humboldt Park (The Park) is not part of Humboldt Park (The Neighborhood). Officially, the 77 Chicago Neighborhoods puts Wicker Park, Ukrainian Village as WEST TOWN. The 77 are the officially recognized 'hoods. Then Real Estate Marketers and the like created the sub-neighborhoods like Wicker Park etc.
But yeah, Humboldt Park (Neighborhood) is really from Kedzie --> West...OFFICIALLY.

Go to wikipedia and type in Chicago neighborhoods.

A nice detailed map with info about each neighborhood is displayed.

You have the terminology a bit backwards. The 77 Official "Community Areas" are different from the "Neighborhood" boundaries, which are more suggestive. Humboldt Park the COMMUNITY AREA starts at Kedzie, but the NEIGHBORHOOD starts at Western. So the NEIGHBORHOOD of Humboldt Park is actually in two Community Areas--West Town and Humboldt Park. That's @#%#*@ confusing! But the maps I attached concur with this, and both are from the City government.
