Thank God someone finally found the time and inclination to put something like this together. I've been wanting to do it for a long time but didn't have enough time in one sitting to just sit down and pound it out.

If you do a new search for threads and post it here, I will add it to the main list and cite you as the edition, deleting the post (to make this compact). You can also DM me the searches if you want and I'll add it above. There are a ton of threads I missed, neighborhoods I haven't searched for yet, and other things that may be helpful to search for (such as finding an apt, etc). If you DON'T want me to delete your post, please state that in the post! If you are doing something else (like writing out neighborhood descriptions), I will keep that post as original for now and we can figure out if we want to combine anything later |

LOL! Brilliant and I'm actually not being sarcastic for once. LOL!
The burbs need one of these too! I never realized how much info we all have contributed on this board until I saw some of the old threads that you put up links to. You may want to add some link like "How crappy is Chicago's weather for real?" or something like that. ![]() |

It is a shame that people are made to feel bad for asking/posting the wrong type of questions on this site. I am not sure what the purpose of this site is if you cant ask questions unless they havent been asked before? Why dont they just make a FAQ webpage that lists all the information and not make it interactive at all? Who is Drover, and why is it so important that everyone who visits this site appease him?
What exactly is the purpose or goal of this site anyway? Is treating individuals who ask basic questions about the area with condescension and sarcasm the best way to meet that goal or fulfill that purpose? I commend sticky for putting together this wonderful information however, I think that the individual who is the most offended by the multiple posts should have been the one who took it upon themselves to make an FAQ. Perhaps individuals who have a problem with the repeat questions should refrain from reading or responding to questions they think are redundant rather than insisting that others stop posting basic questions about Chicago. |
