It is not 70 mph around Indy nor is it in Illinois until you get into Indiana.

You never answered my main question. What town or part of Kentucky do you consider the mountains?

I've done the drive several times, so if it's all the same to you, I'll take my repeated experiences over your say-so, thanks.

Try to do it now with all the construction going on. I did it a few weeks ago and it is not possible without risking a ticket right now. Sorry Charlie.

Penn's pretty bad with the speed traps as well on the Penn Pike, or whatever they call it.

Default I didn't bash Chicago I voted for Chicago

Hey i didn't bash Chicago i voted for Chicago and i'm out here in Cali.....and nothing that i said was silly you see Los Angeles is closer to more World Class Cities than any other City in America...Bar None..and San Francisco is going to be a Alpha Class World City when the next ranking comes out , so is Chicago 6 Houirs from a Alpha World Class City. Is New York City 6 Hours away from a Alpha World Class City (No)...The Only Mid Ranking World City close to NYC is Boston and Boston is not a high ranking World Class City like San Francisco is...here are Los Angeles surrounding World Class Cities San Francisco....Las Vegas...San Diego...
(Tijuana Mexico) was World Ranked in 1999 even before San Diego was Ranked a World Class City...Seattle Washington..And by the way San Diego and Tijuana are only 1 1/2 Hours from Los Angeles....Las Vegas 4 Hours from LA..

I make the back and forth Lexington-Chicago drive several times a year, both by way of Louisville and the Cincinnati bypass. Going 5 over and no stop to eat the best time is about 6.5 hours. The goal in Chicago makes the time vary but not by much; whether my old place in Uptown, my son's in Downers Grove or my daughter's on the near West Side doesn't make much difference.

On 75 the mountains start about an hour south of Lexington when you get south of Corbin and when you hit the Tennessee line they get bigger yet when you hit the western end of Pine Mountain at Jellicoe.

About 30 miles south of Lexington at Berea you leave the Bluegrass and hit an area known as The Knobs; big hills shaped like.....knobs. Big hills but not mountains. In any event you have to go pretty far east or south of Lexington to hit mountains.
