I think it’s still there. At least it was a few years ago. The Balbo Monument. It’s a 2000 year old Roman column with an inscription added in the 1930s from Mussolini.

But yeah, the original article about the street names was an April fools joke.

I wrote the first response, and I knew it was an April Fools' joke. Why are people taking it seriously? I guess I may have confused some people by bringing up Balbo.

Hopefully the inscription won't be removed--it would only cause more damage to this object from antiquity.
