Default Ed Debevic's for lunch or dinner?

I am taking a junior high student council group to Chicago this summer. There will be about 40 of us altogether, mostly students from ages 13 to 15. I want them to get an experience at Ed Debevic's they will always remember. Would you suggest taking them there for lunch, which would be their first meal after arriving in Chicago, or for dinner on their last night before heading to Navy Pier for a fireworks cruise? Depending on which of these times we choose for Ed's, the other meal will be spent at Gino's East. Is there a time of day where the servers are more entertaining or do more dancing? Thank you. Jim

Just FYI, Ed's and Gino's are across the street from eachother.

As for when you go, I would just do whatever fits into your schedule the best. I don't think it really makes a difference. I would just see when the restaurant can accomdote 40, as they may decide for you!

What is your "per meal" or overall budget? That makes a difference. I could recommend, but the number would help....

That's all in the middle of Chica-Vegas. Middle schoolers would probably love it all.

The kids are doing fundraisers to help cover the cost of this trip, so as far as overall budget, we could really do lunch or dinner there. Either one would be affordable. Thanks.

IMo

Ed Debevics is a waste of Prime downtown location.......

the "Entertainment" should not be called Entertainment. The food is ok...I can make better and it's kinda pricey...

But I cant think of any suggestions.....

I agree w/Lookout Kid that the middle schoolers would probably get a kick out of Ed Debevic's. There's a Hard Rock Cafe right there also.

The Navy Pier fireworks cruise sounds good. Navy Pier has a website; you've probably already visited there. The cruises start around Memorial Day, I think. If you're coming too early for the cruises, you might take them to the observation deck of the Hancock Building.
