I know this from living around the corner from my alderman. Living in a building with a security guard is a plus if you can afford it. Installing a security system with monitoring service like ADT is another option I'd highly recommend even if one lives in a small town.

Take ordinary precautions. That's about it. You'll find Chicago is a great place to live.
what is an alderman - someones last name? i read thename / term in a forum about a shooting at v-live this weekend

Neighbors would be the people who live next to you.

Millionaires are people with a lot of money.

Hope that helps!

man south side and west side of Chicago are beautiful compared to New Orleans where I'm currently temporarily located at due to the job market there. Even the few suburbs here have a ghetto twist to them. The ghetto's here are slums, and after thinking Chicago was so terrible for my whole life being born n raised there n all, the ghetto's here really make me appreciate how nice and "safe" Chicago really was. And the rednecks (ie most of the white minority in New Orleans) here are terrible also, I've never been mean mugged so much before in my life (and I've lived on the south side, as well as next to Cabrini Green, and in Humboldt Park), nevermind by my own race. It's like they smell the north off of me or somethin. Don't take Chicago's laid pack and chill ghetto's for granted. It's not New York City, but there are way worse places than Chicago.

^^HDU. New Orleans is like the girl you dump but still secretly call for occasional hook-ups. <3
