Which city in Wisconsin is the truest, card carrying member of Chicagoland, the one so linked to the Windy City (and, if you will, the Windy Area) that it makes the state line appear almost meaningless:

• Kenosha, last Metra stop, the outlet and other retail mecca that's there to serve Chicagoland (&, of course, to a lesser degree Milwaukee), the Wisconsin yin to Gurnee's Illinois yang?

• Pleasant Prairie, smack on state line, and WI's only (relatively) real Chicago suburb

• Lake Geneva, town and lake, that was the 1st place in WI to be drawn into Chicago's orbit well over a century back, first as the summer home of Chicago's elite to today's Chicago-oriented tourist mecca

Of course, any mention of how you see things progressing to the future that will affect this relationship, include that data. And feel free to throw in an "Honorable Mention" or two (or describe such place as the true earner of the Chicago, WI, moniker.) Certainly cheesehead resort areas that are heavily Chicagocentric (I hear you, Dells & Door) or include Bucky Badger munching a cardinal red tomato Lou's pizza wearing a white W and orange and blue C may receive a shout out.

If I may be so bold, I NEVER consider anything in the State of Wisconsin to be connected with the City of Chicago, which is in Cook County, State of Illinois.... But that's just me Master Jay from Milwaukee

There is one Chicago. It is in Illinois. Its suburbs spill over into Indiana and, to a lesser extent, Wisconsin. None of the forced-choice response to your poll are even slightly accurate, nor do they make any sense whatsoever. Care to try again with something more answerable?

What?

People are being way too hostile in the thread lol.

Anyways - of the three I would choose Lake Geneva.

Ha, Ha! Ok, I'm going to be even bolder... I have 2 cousins that live in Illinois. 1 lives in the Bridgeport neighborhood on the near south side, and 1 lives in Deerfield. They both say they are from Chicago... uh, NOOOOOOOO!... I tell the former that she is, but based on my standards/interpretations (and yes, I understand they are just MY opinions), Deerfield is NOT Chicago!!! Sincerely, Master Jay from Chicago

SkylarkPhotoBooth, I am with you! I don't think we are being "hostile" in our position on this, Drewjdeg. We are holding our stance, yet are not slinging mud, name calling, bashing, etc. so we are NOT being hostile... In fact, I have heard others refer to the areas in Wisconsin that edsg25 mentions, as "Chicago-esque". I'm just saying I don't like to make the connection. The points made about Chicago residents owning land in Lake Geneva or Metra stations in Kenosha are indisputable... but I personally just don't take it any further than THAT.- Sincerely, Master Jay from Milwaukee.

You appear to be confusing hostility with basic understanding of geography. "lol."
