I left Chicago last year, mostly because of the weather....This weekend I took a trip to Louisville to visit a friend who had also left Chicago (for other reasons)... Anyway, we couldnt resist not taking a drive to Chicago....It was hot all through KY and IN and when we got off 90/94 we opened the window and any icy blast blew in!!!! lol I considered myself such a hardy individual when I lived there (and yes, I remember when 45 degrees felt downright balmy( but I just couldnt hang this time around...
I never noticed how grey it really was in Chicago... even a day with full sun looks grey... It took me moving all the way to the deep, deep South near the Gulf of Mexico to realise that....
It was actually so depressing to us that we dropped our plans to go party and went to bed.....

I see 7 days that were over 60 degrees, 18 days were at or above the 45 degree average. Not exactly "frigid" (at least not compared to January).

2008 wasnt quite as warm (was actually one of our coldest Marches ever), but there was still 11 days at or above average temps:

2007? I see a few days that were almost 80 degrees. Bottom line? March is not "frigid", its wishy-washy, but can be absolutely gorgeous many times.

40's is cold. And that doesn't include the wind, a much understated factor in Chicago weather. 15 days of rain or snow, several of those being snow, and 2 days of clear skies.

June-October=Wonderful weather, wish it was longer.
March, meh mixed with some nice weather. April-wishy washy, May less wishy washy(good term Steve). November-meh.
December through February=winter.
If we could turn off the Lake Michigan air-conditioning during the spring it would be much nicer.
But such is Chicago. Complaining about weather is like complaining about the Cubbies blowing it (again) or like complaining about wasteful and corrupt government.

Good lord, it was 84 on Friday, 77 Saturday, 78 Sunday and 72 yesterday.

A storm blew through on Saturday afternoon and chilled it down that night, but warmed back up by the next morning to nearly 80.

If you do not live in Chicago anymore why is your location listed as "Chicago Southside! (McKinley Park)?"

Me thinks you need to change that.

"A day with full sun looks gray"? Our summer skies are FAR more blue than anything in the deep South can offer. Less humidity=clearer skies. One thing I HATED about living in TN was that the skies always looked white, especially in summer. Then during the dog-days of summer, it was soooooo hazy that you could hardly see a mile, it was awful. Northern air quality TRUMPS Southern air quality, its far more fresh and far less humid. Try again.

Oh, one more thing, Louisville averages a whopping 2% more sunshine than Chicago. What does that come out to, about 4 days? Ooooohhhh. And we get less rain and humidity in Chicago.

To someone living down in the Deep South, 72 is frigid in summer, so you can imagine how cold the 50s must have felt. But, then again, 50s and colder are very normal down there in winter, that guy was just trying to get us riled up.

amaali, Satan has reserved a special circle of hell for you for reviving this old, old thread.

Chicago's winters suck, blah blah blah. Carry on with the bitching and moaning. Candy asses.

Humidity is my number one complaint about weather here in Bama. You start sweating the moment you step outside
