Preckwinkle is a stone cold Democratic Machine Politician, tax and spend, anything the unions and major political contributors want, the hell with individuals, only the dem machine matters..

If thats what you want to continue, then vote for her..
No one knows what Lori L will be like, so, if you want to take that chance, vote for her..

2 very clear choices here, and 2 totally different individuals..

The Daley family has been looting Chicago and Cook County for over 70 years. There are no poor Daleys. If Preckwinkle is elected, John Daly will be the Chairman of the County Board. And the Daley looting will continue. Lightfoot is indeed a lightweight and political hack but she has not learned to steal yet so she's probably the best choice between two totally unqualified candidates. LIGHTFOOT over BIGFOOT any day!

Little worried about Lightfoot experience may be when leaders fail it's because they were set up for failure.

I'm not naive to corruption in Chicago politics. Many of the headlines regarding the runoff race has been in regards to Chicago electing its first African American woman mayor. That is literally what the sentence before the one you quoted said.

You really could've kept this to yourself.

Sorry. It's nothing personal but no, I won't keep it to myself. Voting decisions have not been very smart as of late in this state. I've been assuming it's because people are naive and not directly malicious, so I'm using the word in its literal dictionary sense and not as an insult.

Maybe the consequences of these latest elections (the state elections in November and now this one) will be what it takes for them to learn it on their own. I guess we'll see.

Well some say it does not matter who the President is that local politicians effect your life more. Is chicago so big that it does not matter who mayor is but who your alderman is? Or who you congress person is ?

Also does anyone think Lightfoot looked scared when she was giving speech on primary night? I do not think she thought she would lead primary.

If Chicago doesn't break the machine in this next election it deserves whatever happens. Lightfoot is the first opportunity to do so. Preckwinkle is just another cog in the wheel. Nothing will change under her and it will be business as usual. If any of you have heard her on Chicago Tonight, you have to have noticed that she will not answer any direct questions, just keeps spouting off her rhetoric.
