Well, they are advertising for paid positions:
Resource Center :: Job Opportunities

I found their Form 990 on GuideStar. They had about $750k in salary expense for the year ended June 30, 2007, $125k in employee benefits, $39k in rent, $50k in interest expense and $250k in vehicle/truck expenses (they had a net loss of $150k for the year). They pulled in almost $1M in recycling revenue.

Their executive director (Ken Dunn) makes $20k a year according to the Form 990.

Well they need to get more volunteers.

Perhaps they can get a program started with some H.S. and Colleges to exchange student work for school credits.

I think there is an easy way out of this situation they are in.

I am very surprised they have that much salary and benefit expense. The rent expense is not that great.

I'm new to Chicago, and after a month and a half of staying with a friend, I am finally getting a nice apartment on Damen in Bucktown with my roommate. We want to start recycling but I'm not sure where to take it. All the posts in this thread are all over the place as far as what to recycle but I'm not really seeing where to take it...Anyone have ideas for me? My building is a 3-flat, but I'm not sure there is a recycling bin for it...Any ideas are appreciated! Thanks.

You must have missed the second post in the thread:
http://www.city-data.com/forum/3422754-post2.html

You might be in blue bin territory if you live south of North and east of Damen. If not you can take stuff to the city location at 1150 N North Branch or the non-profit drop at 2660 N Lincoln
